The world is quiet. For the first time in a long time. Alice is fast asleep in her cot, wearing her new Christmas pajamas after an eventful day of visiting family, exchanging presents, watching many Christmas films and drinking hot chocolate. The world is peaceful. My world is silent.
If I had to pick my favorite time for today, it would have to be when everyone is relaxing, watching Christmas films on the BBC, drinking either wine or endless supplies of hot chocolate and wearing your pajamas. Christmas has always been a loving and happy time for me. Last year was mine and Alice’s first Christmas apart from her father and this time we are greeting Christmas with an extra family in the shape of Luke’s family and I couldn’t be happier as I write this post right now.
Christmas morning, we are waking up together in our home, just the two of us. I have a sack full of presents for Alice which she will be opening before I drop her to her dads for a few hours and then heading to my mums for the rest of the day to exchange gifts, play silly board games and I’m sure take plenty of Christmas photos.
Greeting 2018 is going to be a much needed event however, 2017 has been the year of growth, learning from mistakes and opening my heart once again to feel love. I cannot wait to post my 2017 wrap up post! While I’ve been finishing it up I realized how many adventures Alice and I actually had! And they were pretty epic!
Anyways, I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and Santa brings you just what you wanted. See you all in the new year!
